Dr. Suman K Murthy, is an alumnus of University of Mysore, Mysuru. She did her Masters' Degree in Social Work(MSW) from the Department Studies in Social Work, Manasa Gangotri, Mysore. M. Phil in Psychiatric Social Work from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru and Ph. D in Psychiatric Social Work from NIMHANS Deemed University, Bengaluru.
Dr. Suman K Murthy, is a trained Psychiatric Social Worker to provide mental health care support for the needy. She has got rich and varied experience in working with rehabilitation of mentally ill, HIV/AIDS related work, working with senior citizens, women issues, environmental issues and research. Dr. Suman K Murthy worked as Psychiatric Social Worker at NIMHANS, Bangalore during the initial years of her career. Then she held the position of Reader in the Richmond fellowship Society Post Graduate College for Psycho social Rehabilitation, Bengaluru, affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru for a decade. She was a faculty in the department of Social Work, Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre, Mysore, An autonomous college under the University of Mysore, Mysuru for more than a decade. She has served as Faculty in Women Studies, at Administrative Training Institute, Mysore, Mysuru during 2021- 22. Dr. Suman K Murthy is a practicing counsellor for mental health and interpersonal issues.
